Les trois mousquetaires

The same year Douglas Fairbanks brought us The Three Musketeers (1921), the French also did their own, less known today, adaptation of Alexandre Dumas widely popular tale. While I can say I prefer the more charismatic approach of Fairbanks to Henri Diamant-Berger's perhaps more ambitious undertaking of the novel, but the French film, or serial, rather, is very faithful to Dumas work and gets over 5 1/2 hours to tell it's story, which is a privilege to experience.
