Surprisingly still effective.

An amusing short where women are the dominant sex. It carries things to extremes but in doing so exposes hidden preconceptions and stereotypes about gender roles, something especially surprising for a 100 year old film.

Even leaving the trousers/dresses allocation intact the reversal of body language alone gets the point across, though itʼs just as confused as present-day feminist gender swap scenarios (as a demonstration of inequality thatʼs simultaneously an inegalitarian power fantasy). If youʼre surprised by this, there are astonishments waiting for you in previous centuries.
