Les hirondelles de Kaboul

Quiet, contemplative study of life under Taliban rule, and the various brutal hypocrisies of “Sharia Law”, is perhaps too quiet for its own good, ultimately reaching a forced and obvious conclusion, when simply observing its characters might have worked better; still beautifully animated, with Breitman and Gobbé-Mévellec showing the value of using animation for dramatic purposes; voice performances seem tired and muted at times, further undermining an interesting, ultimately unsuccessful effort.

Interesting setting, but predictable story and too many French mannerisms to make it feel really authentic.

Real purdy film about infuriating things.

Everything around the Mohsen character is annoying but the last third is fine.
