Occasional flashes of Ophuls greatness, but they're few and far between, and it's hard to care about the melodrama.

Biopic about the last year of painter Modigliani. Guess I'm a sucker for this kind of overromanticising of the poor alcoholic suffering artist. It helps that is a visual stunning movie with good performances from the cast.
