If this entire series is about how jealous or incompetent leadership figures of galactic empires are setting up no-win scenarios for their own up-and-coming fleet commanders and the ways they turn this around to decisively win battles that have no winners since lives and loves are still destroyed in their wake, well, I'm on board. Until explosive decompression ends me.

Another part of the excellent Ginga Eiyuu Densetsu series. Goes into more detail of the beginning of the anime, and does it well. If you are a fan of the series, you know its required watching.
