Le petit Nicolas: Qu'est-ce qu'on attend pour être heureux?

Knowing nothing of Little Nicholas (or the creative team of Goscinny & Sempé), I approach this with no expectations: it’s a bouncy and pleasant piece of animation which unfortunately never capitalises on its interesting storytelling technique of Goscinny literally interacting with his creation, which makes the biographical elements feel underdeveloped; works best as an episodic showcase for Nicholas, who almost seems to be France’s answer to Peanuts in some regards! Genially pleasant.
