Le petit Nicolas

Well, for those, who know the original Gosciny-Sempé book, this fim is a Must-see. It is really as good as the book, it has the same atmosphere and is dunny in the same way. I am not sutre, if those, who don't know the book will like it as much as I do, but definitely good film.

'Cute' in that very particular French way.

Le Petit Nicolas is a cute film with a simple (and for some of us, relatable) premise. The kids are great, and the humour is a mix of slapstick adventures and cringe-inducing hijinks; that dinner scene had me squirming. The 60's/70's aesthetic seems quaint, but I couldn't shake the fact these mischievous kids probably grew up to ruin the environment and economy. Not ground-breaking, but a fun watch.

A sweet, enjoyable slice of fun. Le Petit Nic proves that you don't need Grand Adventure to tell an engrossing story, provided you have a gang of wacky characters. Most of the kid actors do a fantastic job, and there are enough silly grown-up scenes to keep adults happy too. The touch of absurdism which brings most of these vignettes together is what gives the film its unique voice and unleashes the director's creativity. The world of Petit Nicolas is a seamless and nostalgic fantasy experience.

Astonishingly charming kid-flick. The "French Diary of a Wimpy Kid" label it's been blessed with isn't far off the mark.

Better than American shits like "stand by me." my favorite childhood movies still are Sergio Leone's Once Upon a Time in America and Stephen King's It.

Its morality is too naive for grown ups, who will certainly appreciate the innocent acts of these little guys, but this one serves as a light and cute entertainment for eight and nine-year-olds. It all seems too eager to please the audience.
