Le grand jeu

A somber tale about about a man who joins the French Foreign Legion after getting caught stealing money to afford his wife who loves the high life. And the rest of the movie is our man Pierre Richard-Willm all in depression. Marie Bell plays both the happy go lucky wife and a sad prostitute. It's a real depth performance. This is a challenging movie because it's rarely happy, but there is a grueling truth about it that one have to appreciate. It's an overall great job from all involved.
