Le Noël du poilu

A soldier during World War 1 wants to be reunited with his family for Christmas. I'm sure this hit right home with the movie goers during Christmas season in the middle of the great war with the longing they felt at that time with the men being out on the battlefield not being able to come home for the holidays. And it's respectable work by Louis Feuillade, but terribly dull for modern eyes. It's a far cry form his crime films (Fantômas, Les vampires, Judex) which are still highly regarded.
