You can tell they were following a recipe similar to Le Diner de Cons, situational comedy, running around, misunderstanding, unfaithfulness, and so on. I guess it keeps you watching to see just what would unfold next. What pleased me the most however were the visuals. The costumes and sets were meant to have retro charm, but were also interesting in rich textures and colours, and forms. You can admire the furniture while the drama unfolds
