Costa-Gavras? A black comedy? Get out! The premise is pretty wacky, but the story is told with such a straight face that for much of the movie (knowing the political realist that is Costa-Gavras) I was thinking "hold on a minute.. is he serious??". It's the exquisite ending that reveals it to have been one big sick joke.

Terrific pitch-black comedy. Corporate satire meets odd serial killer movie. José Garcia was amazing. He could get away with murder. Quite literally.

I like how his constant ignorance of morals also manages to reflect doubt at the same time.

Brilliant. And pleasantly surprised by Costa-Gavras sense of humour. The marvellous ending just tops it all.

I've never forgotten the ingenious premise of this great and mostly overlooked movie.

Although it drags a bit in the second act, this is a delicately paced, caustic social satire that only free-market capitalism can produce. José Garcia is just about the worst serial killer in film history, but through the same luck that landed him his last job, he succeeds. And we root for him all the way. The ending is perfection.

This movie made me think. It still makes me to pause when I remember it. That is a quality very few movies have.

José Garcia seems to have been born for tortured roles, and he really brings this character to life. The comedy is pitch black and the drama is gripping. Really, it's hard to ask for much more than that. The ending is wonderfully French and puts a nice cherry on the whole thing.

If you don't have problems to kill someone now and then, it is brilliant idea how to approach unemployment with guarantied success :). Also not too much "french comedy" style(watch Bienvenue chez les Ch'tis or any Taxi movie and you'll get the point) but it's still there in reasonable quantites thus when you're laughing it isn't like you are being raped at the same time(French have strange sense for humor, especially in films). I havent spotted any serious flaw so I'd definitely recommend it.

A very clever and funny film which combines social satire and black comedy to brilliant effect. If the concept of the film alone is strong, the execution and performances of all the actors are flawless. One of those thrillers which are choreographed to spiral so beautifully out of control, leaving the viewer perpetually on the edge of their seat wondering which way it will turn next. Can't believe it took Costa-Gavras so many films before reaching these heights.
