Angelina Jolie in a tight suit that highlights her boobies? Imagine the board of coked up executives that must have sat in a dark room, smoking cigarettes and feeling disillusioned, when this didn't win the 'Best movie ewah' award. This is how misanthropes are born.

A decent action movie with some, not all, good music on the soundtrack. Angelina Jolie does fit the part of Laura Croft as the tough but sexy heroine. While not a great film by any means it does manage to entertain and is probably the best movie based on a video game to date (not like that's much of an accomplishment however).

They kept it as if it were a video game, I appreciated that honesty. Glen's hedonist villain character was interestingly quirky. I think that in this movie instead of a director of photography, they had a director of mammography as everything felt like it was framed around Jolie's breasts.

Since I've been quite a fan of the Tomb Raider games on the PC, I had gotten curious about this movie. And while it's quite fun to see Lara come to life in a film along with some nice details (the sound you hear when she finds the clock in her house is almost identical to the sound you hear when you find relics in the game), the film itself is pretty much rubbish. The plot is empty, the action is quite lame, and the jokes aren't very funny. I did like her boobs, though.

Every one of these movies sucked....Jolie tries waaay too hard and ends up over-acting quite a bit. I can't get into a movie where a mal-nourished, underweight broad runs around killing shit. The recoil from her handguns alone would have broken her arms. Pass.

Lara Croft: Tomb Raider is a prime example of a successful video game franchise that struggled to make the transition to feature films. On paper Angelina Jolie is perfect for the role, but she is awful, as is the dialogue and the completely nonsensical plot. Even the huge amount of set pieces can't salvage this disapointingly dismal film adaption. And at no point during this film was I reminded of or felt any nostalgia towards the video games. So overall this was a completely missed opportunity.

Terrible acting, terrible plot, sub-par special effects, stupid use of slow motion. Truly awful script and horribly annoying accents. Jolie's performance is absolutely abysmal. Jolie is not even that attractive here, so I'm not sure why people were so excited to see her in this. Very boring and pointless movie. This could have been better if instead of Angelina Jolie they had cast a super-fit badass similar to Linda Hamilton in Terminator 2: Judgment Day.

Top badass moment? AJ channels Lady Penelope and damages more historic monuments than ISIS, in an effort to promote push-up bras and own James Bond, whilst the word “bugger” is used to explain to Americans that this film has English characters in it. All whilst Now That’s What I Call Music 43 (or whatever number had been released at the time) continually blares out in the background. No cats or chainsaws, or decapitations, (unless you count all the stone dudes' heads that were trashed).

If Lara Croft were a man, this movie would be awful. With Jolie's it's so-so on the bad side, but she fills Lara's boots like no one else could I'm sure. As a female Indiana Jones however, the film never takes off.

A muddled story and foggy details divert your attention away from the cheesy dialogue and flimsy characters. Stunning sets and visuals, along with Jolie's "let's have some fun" attitude go a long way toward making this disappointment more entertaining than it probably should be.

(Spoilers)You know, I can suspend my disbelief, enjoy the ride, but the whole movie, I was taking issue with the fact that Lara was risking the fate of the world to save her father. But then when she does, her father rebuffs her, and I feel like that's the right message... only to have Croft ignore and disrespect her father's urging to save a friend. WTF. Otherwise, this would've been a smoother movie. Can I say I'd not have done with Croft did in that moment? I think so. But. Some leeway.

Lara Croft: Tomb Raider left me wanting more action. In an action film, I can't expect much more than that, but I didn't get as much action as I wanted, especially considering this is a video game adaptation. The plot is absurd, character decisions don't make sense, and there isn't actually much raiding of tombs going on. But that would be okay if I was entertained by the action sequences. I liked the first one a lot, but after that brilliance, we never get anything close to that again.

I've nothing against Angelina Jolie, and I've no problem with her doing whatever she wants with her body - freedom for everyone yay! But in a movie, I would like more than just body exposition. Like, a story, and good acting. It's like the movie director decided to expose only boobs and ass, and totally forgot about anything else.

The action is cool, and the story is acceptable. You can't expect much from a movie based on a game that is only popular because of the T&A, so it's easy to be surprised by how entertaining the movie is, although the pacing is a little bad, with stretches of slow goings. Meh!

Makes The Mummy look like Raiders of the Lost Ark. 2000-'03 or so were such a rough patch for mainstream action flicks: this and its sequel, Charlie's Angels 1&2, M:I2, 2 Fast 2 Furious, Shaft, Mummy Returns/Scorpion King, Jurassic 3, XXX, Gone in 60, Resident Evil, Time Machine, Daredevil, Paycheck, Matrix sequels, etc. Bless Lord of the Rings, Kill Bill, Spider-Man, Bourne Identity and Pirates of the Caribbean for keeping us sane in that stretch.

No, listen, it's hilarious, and it's something we can never see again in movie history, it was the product of a whole era so it's like a rare archeological remnant of something. It's over the top, funny, and some of the jungle traps are interesting for kids for sure. Also laughing at the American's bad brit accent and the Brit's bad American accent, together in romance scenes they almost cancel each others out
