Lady and Gent

Nominated for the Original Story Oscar, it's simple, yet heartfelt tale of adoption has it's pleasurable moments. What sets it apart from just about any Hollywood movie of it's era is that George Bancroft & Wynne Gibson, who are the ones secretly adopting, are NOT married! That in itself makes it unique. But most of all it's one of the lovable characters those two play. Oh, and a young John Wayne turns up as a shabby boxer.
