La sultane de l'amour

There is something very lovely, yet off-putting, about this filthy piece of romantic literature, hand-colored for people's hunger of exotic fiction of love and oppression. A lot of picturesque scenes with the sexualized lady and her dominating master, not to mention that grotesque little servant of the Sultan always making his presence felt. I'm not the greatest fan of desert romances like this, which is why I never enjoyed such films as The Sheik (1921), but this was intriguing in bits.
