Heartfelt, moving portrait of Góngora’s sad decline into Alzheimers neatly papers over any discomforting exploitative concerns by allowing Góngora to retain his dignity and sense of agency by showing him (and his condition) in his "own words" – a lack of narration, or any singular summary by Urrutia would have made Góngora a pitiable “subject” – this is just a clear eyed, largely unadorned fall into the abyss, with the sparing emotional catharses all the more powerful when they come.

Warm and touching. This disease is hell, but there are glimpses of light sometimes.
