There was a plot here involving a girl, but that one was irrelevant. This was really a documentation of what kind of shows was available in Paris for the 1927 season. For the most part it felt like one was watching a static straight-on Georges Méliès styled movie. But then all of a sudden one was beamed almost into the 1980s for refreshingly modern and eclectic Josephine Baker performances which no doubt was the highlight of this production! The rest seemed terribly dated and dull in comparison.
