La Glace à trois faces

great manic episodes

largely about three women who love an apparently handsome, strong and tyrannical man; and they swoon, and they pine. it's hard to take this silliness seriously. but near the end there's a rather special sequence of the man driving madly to his death, with spooky audio effects. unfortunately the music selection is otherwise woefully inconsistent.

Not as weird as I would expect from a collection of experimental cinema. Maybe my definition of avant-garde is too narrow or something.
