L'Atlantide

Georg Wilhelm Pabst's French version of L'Atlantide. And I felt it was close to a complete re-make of Jacques Feyder's L'Atlantide (1921) except that it had speech. It's a deep and dark fantasy story about love and desire and how it destroys men. The most interesting person in the movie is of course Brigitte Helm as the goddess, but she get way too little screen time for my liking, but when on she was used effectively. It's a very good movie, but not up to Pabst's best movies of that time.
