I'm not sure what film others were watching, but I found this to be a refreshing slasher, with an intelligent protagonist that actually made logical choices, and the less logical ones were very understandable, considering the emotional state she finds herself in. Also, the tech aspect was actually fairly well-grounded. I won't go into details to avoid spoilers, but anyone familiar with Black Hat/DEFCON wouldn't be shocked at the film's tech twist.

What a nice surprise this was! The villains in this, while grounded in reality, managed to be much creepier than the usual real world villains tend to be.

The protag is such a loser-bitch that it gets a bit tedious that she just won't be fucking dead already. And the baddies wanna kill her... because internet cults. Really? How the producers (Weinsteins and Derrickson) thought this was a good idea is beyond. Still, it has an idiotic, outdated technophobic/slasher charm about it.

Her zaman her yerde laiklik.

A lot of wasted plot but a decent effort.

It was a great idea to have the character alone at college while everyone else is away on break, because it immediately evokes insecurity. We are provided with a satisfying and haunting explanation for the scary masked killers' motivations. I also like the way Kristy ends. The movie does not feel fully developed and seems to be missing some punch. Because of this, it never rises above average.
