Gopan (Jayaram), a poor small time videographer, marries Asha Lakshmi (Lakshmi Gopalaswamy), a rich girl, against her family's wishes. When Asha Lakshmi, a talented dancer, gets noticed by famous dancer Maya Varma (Bhanupriya) & given the spotlight, Gopan feels sidelined & unloved & leaves town with their infant kid Ashok.
