Keanu puts up some of his John Wick paycheck so he could be filmed having his Wick tickled in the John by a pair of Hostel 2 extras, and we have to watch. If you enjoy cutting-edge cinematography techniques like walking down a hall with a camera, walking down a hall with a camera at night, and walking down a hall with a camera after the hall has been trashed by a couple of Hostel extras, then grab some tissues because you're gonna be spending all night wiping Eli Wickjuice off your flatscreen.

2 women rape a man, he's somehow the bad guy for this and they torture him for it. I know the standards for Eli Roth are quite low but come on man. It's very unrealistic, I mean what man is not going to be able to overpower 2 115 pound chicks? A constant reminder to always be lifting. Has a lot of holes in the plot like when his friend just conveniently doesn't untie him and how he didn't just walk in like he did in the opening scene. This movie was like a feminist wet dream, so terrible.

In a movie where the protagonist (Keanu, right??? Are we to side with his adulterous self?) gets loose long enough to grab a weapon but never even considers using it, maybe the more apt title would've been Ding Dong. In a movie where two girls go down town then dig a grave maybe a more apt title would be Ding Dong Ditch. Either way, I'm never going to forget her digging peanut butter out of the jar with a lollipop. Horrifying

ok, eli roth. make shitty movies, featuring shitty actors and shitty scripts, i don't care. hell, i even watch them, because at least there's decent tits (movie should be called "knockers knockers"). but do NOT, repeat, do NOT use the pixies' "where is my mind" in your outro. that is sheer sacrilege and WAY, WAAAYYY out of your league.

Though, I doubt Eli Roth is the soothsayer I might be implying he is, "Knock Knock" in 2020 plays like a damnation of the less virtuous side of the #metoo movement. Showing the horror in being unfairly targeted by SJWs, only in a claustrophobic, torture porn way that Roth has trademarked, apparantly. I was less critical of "The Green Inferno" because it stoked my schadenfreude, but here, Keanu's character is put through the ringer for having human errs and it just feels uncomfortable.

It starts off good. Ana de Armas & Lorenza Izzo are irresistibly sexy. Keanu Reeves gives a adequate performance as the family man. He resists them until he is confronted by the two hotties naked and wouldn't take no for an answer. Soon afterwards the movie transforms into a disturbing psychotic nightmare. The action & dialog gets stupid & increasingly less believable. Some idiotic scenes. The end couldn't come soon enough. They took the dumb game so far that it became asinine & tiresome. Pzzah!

An American, married to a Chilean, is forced by a Cuban and another Chilean to confront his willingness to exploit the less powerful: clearly this whole film is intended as a comment on US foreign policy. Don't believe me? Then check out the name of the prop maker. So the apparent theme, about a man being forced to confront the shame of his sexual desire, in so doing forcing the male audience to confront the shame of their sexual desire, is just an allegory. Has a strange kind of cheap TV vibe.

Reeves is mildly manic, Armas and Izzo are firmly in the danger zone of the hot-crazy matrix. Unfortunately, the film is light on plot and the moral soapbox on which anyone stands is ludicrously flimsy. Roth seems to over-indulge in the girls' sadism at the expense of logic and without strong acting to back it up. In the end Knock Knock is a silly mess that doesn't go far enough to be entertaining nor well-written enough to make a point.

Pretty silly movie with a message one can surmise from the trailers alone. Keanu Reeves turns up the volume and yells frantically like Nic Cage in the Wicker Man remake.

Not scary, just an onslaught of irritation. Plays like the primal scream of a men's group, i.e., "This is what these bitches do to us."

Two hateful bitches insinuate themselves into a man's life, utterly destroy him, his family and his home (for no real reason), and then walk away without any consequences. Keanu channeling his inner Nic Cage is novel for about 5 seconds, but this is truly appalling stuff. Keanu does everything he can to be helpful and kind, but the movie paints him as the villain and his mindless evil tormentors as anti-heroes. It's like Eli Roth watched Hard Candy and thought "I can do it stupider." Garbage.

I guess if someone wants to feel uncomfortable and watch characters impossible to side with, go ahead. It's too ridiculous to be serious suspense, and it takes itself too seriously to be comedy horror, so it is a weird middle tone with accidental comedy. Keanu Reeves channels his inner Nicolas Cage. It seems more like moral panic meant to scare incels and horny people both.

Eli Roth manages to conduct an excellent first third then somewhere along the way he completely loses it. The tension vanishes, the tone rises and everything else becomes laughable. Roth knows very little about suspense and he should stop trying. His thing is the gore and the dark humor. If he made a Braindead or Bad Taste kind of film, it would fit like a glove into his style.

It has the best camp performance ever by Keanu Reeves. This is Nicolas Cage school of acting and some of the monologues are hilarious with a bound up (my little pony?) panty gagged Keanu talking about fucking, starfish, and pizza. This is like one of those rare delicacies that must be savored and is at first slightly bitter, sour, and cloyingly sweet at the same time. It is something that you must train your senses in order to appreciate the exquisite nature of this masterpiece.

Knock Knock is the best feature-length film of Eli Roth's career. He shows a fantastic amount of skill here, from the way he manages to balance the tone, to the restraint he shows with the violence and gore, to how he weaves in social commentary, and even to how gorgeous some shots are. The acting is terrible but brilliant, the film is filled with tension and atmosphere, and it certainly doesn't struggle to hammer home its thoughts on infidelity. It's Funny Games for the FaceBook generation.

Being a sleazy, horny, low-browed role-reversal Funny Games isn't in itself disqualifying, but the almost complete lack of suspense and tension sure is. The most torturous thing here is seeing decent actors being forced to deliver dialogue like this with a straight face.

I imagine the material to be shittily written and I assume Eli Roth didn't give them much to work with, but based on that: (a few) kudos to the three main players for having some fun with it/breathing a little life into it from time to time. Like Hostel this is way too tame, boring and generally underwhelming, 'cause it's so badly done. And stupid. I don't know, if teasing fucked up shit, but never actually going there, is Roth's intention or not. Either way it's disappointing as fuck.

It's not entirely horrible, but it is pretty bad. The premise is interesting enough, but the motivations of the characters and how it plays out, kind of feels like the movie itself was a little confused as to what direction it wanted to go. The two lead ladies do an okay job bringing the sexy and crazy, but Keanu's performance is quite possibly the worst I've seen.

(Viewed on 17/12/15): The score doesn't remotely reflect the quality of the movie (it's trash) or its sheer entertainment value. It's a lurid home invasion film where two hotties (Armas and Izzo) lure an attractive middle aged married man (Reeves) into a game of sexual terrorism. Roth clearly has a sly sense of humour, and he is unafraid to push the ridiculous scenaro to absurd extremes. To what end? God knows, but Reeves' campy counter-critical performance is hilarious, intentionally or not.

This was actually quite decent. I'm not really a fan of Eli Roth because he makes his movies way more extreme and pointless then they need to be, and granted they're were plenty of things pointless in this, but the girls were really good. They seemed like genuine physcopaths and combined with the over the top Keanu Reeves, who seemed to reach Nicholas Cage level statues of acting here, the movie, while completely dumb, was entertaining, and that's all I can really expect with a movie like this.

Like a spasmodic record producer, KNOCK KNOCK is constantly fiddling with the level of trashiness in its fantasy-turned-nightmare scenario, without ever finding the appropriate pitch. The villains are more annoying than threatening, but at least there is a certain slyness to their victim being the epitome of the insufferable SoCal hipster dad. Keanu Reeves' wooden performance is good for some nostalgia--and makes his late-game outbursts the best and funniest part of a surprisingly rote film.

In a time where remakes are being mass produced without much improvement, we have Knock Knock. Knock Knock took the original concept from Death Game and modernized it, making it more relatable. The female roles were well played, and they created a great sense of disruption. Poor Keanu Reeves! I like to think this movie exists in the same world as The Neon Demon, and this is his punishment for how he manages motels.

This is such a trashy film, but that's what makes it so damn good. Keanu plays the role so perfectly that one might very well find it incredibly annoying. The true test for viewers of this film comes at the end. When you hear the final song that plays in the film, are you bothered by its usage or does it bring a smile to your face?

European gash has proven the downfall of Roth. In the crucial role of Reeves' wife, Alamand gives the performance equivalent of the soggy cum rag she used to wipe Roths jizz off her face. With the family being an irksome caricature, its impossible to give fucks about the consequences of Reeves infidelity. Armas and Izzo have fun moments, but the ending lacks any bite and feels unduly self-congratulatory in the morality lesson it weakly imposes.

Another in a line of anti-violence screeds that hopelessly muddles itself by being dishonest about what it’s trying to do – this might have had some promise without some fatally bad decisions at the construction level: Reeves playing laid-back “surfer dad” is all wrong for this; a slimier DEVIL’S ADVOCATE mode might have worked better; Izzo and de Armas do what they can, but their characters are too senselessly (and gratingly) over-the-top to be scary, interesting or relatable on any level.

It works well as a B movie up until the last quarter and especially the final 10 minutes or so. The film was progressing well towards what was going to be a decent resolution of the unpretentious campy plot, but then - quite literally - the plot was apparently lost. The preachy last quarter and the finale that felt completely out of place and belonging to a different movie with a different tone ruined this otherwise enjoyable piece of nonsense.
