Goddard is wonderful in this twist on Pygmalion. Leisen again shows comedic finesse, with the right tone and humor throughout. Only when the film falls into heavier drama, taking-itself-too-seriously, does it sputter. Also memorable are supporting performances from Constance Collier and Reginald Owen

Paulette Goddard's Kitty (1945) is a kind of clever costume drama, but the pacing was off for me. Too many slow spots in between the killer Goddard moments. Ray Milland fills the elegant role well, but very few other characters comes to life. Just be patient and enjoy it for the key Goddard scenes.
