Shatner tries to sleep with everything within a 50 mile radius while a spider kingdom gets in his way.

William Shatner vs. spiders and feminism! Hilarity ensues when it becomes evident that the very real spiders used on set weren't to be harmed, so people gently and carefully tiptoe between the heartless, venomous killing machines.

There's a big old ant hill, err, spider hill that children fall into so I don't know what people are complaining about. Shatner tosses a child to the floor like he's heaving a bag of bricks. There's a chaotic scene where they go down main street as a parade of spider violence. Shatner has a ten minute audition they left in the film that takes place on a staircase and involves a lot of writhing. This scratched every spider itch I had. Go seventies spiders!

"Kingdom of the Spiders" is obviously the inspiration for "Arachnophobia", only it's not scary, and Shatner gives it a degree of legitimacy for being cheesy, and to a point, makes it fun.

The poster is probably the best thing about this derivative crapfest

This is kind of a 'Birds' rehash, replacing the feathered fear factor with menacing Mexican tarantulas. Shatner's acting is in full force here, most notably in the stair climbing scene. Other highlights are the treatment of the female characters, ranging from throwing & ignoring grown women to that scene where Shatner casually tosses his young niece to the ground to be extinguished. Current animal activists would have had a field day with the fervent amount of arachnid murder on display too.

Slower than a river of molasses and duller than a box full of spoons, this Shatner thriller has a decent b-movie premise but is more likely to give you a few Zs than any thrills. A disappointing movie, but a hell of a cure for insomnia.

Though actually pretty bad, it was totally watchable and entertaining.

This had potential. But unrealized potential is cliche, and this film is part of that. Shatner is not the problem here. The problem is the scriptwriters are unaware that spiders are not insects. When you don't even know the most basic facts about the creatures on which you base your film, your film will fail, and this one did.

"Kingdom of the Spiders" is a film that draws inspiration from "Birds," a testament to Alfred Hitchcock's superb directorial prowess. Yet, in contrast to "Birds," it doesn't quite capture the same depth of engagement or finesse in its execution.

Slow moving spiders everywhere! Forces of nature try to keep William Shatner from the ladies; succeeds. Most of the scenes you think of in this were apparently Shatner improvising and I can’t decide if that’s better or worse.

Slow as hell but it takes itself seriously. The story and idea were interesting too bad the movie never lives up to its premise.

Almost too awful for MST3k to make fun of. about as scary and exciting as watching paint dry

A well done thriller with some cheesy moments but plenty of scares. Obviously not for arachnophobics.
