One day he meets Goldie who has run away from home, hoping to find a job around horses; his biggest hobby. When he finds out the real identity of Mason, Goldie takes care of him. One of the few horse racing pictures I actually liked... at first. Then it hit a weird sentimental portion that just didn't fit. Too ridiculous of a plot twist, and a complete shift in emotional tone. But I did feel Adolphe Menjou and young Roger Daniel did a good job finding the right energy needed to make the story fun. Should easily be Daniel's best role during his decade in Hollywood. And Menjou was even better. Too bad about the that stupid idea. At least it meant for a grimmer ending.
