A fairly decent adventure flick that is really helped by being filmed on location. Granger does a good job and it's got some good action, but nothing to really blow anyone away.

Decent adventure with some gripped segments. Feels like an abridged blend of 'The Man Who Would be King' and 'Hatari'.

Exactly the kind of 1950s adventure epic that I can't stand. Nice photography, but it's a bunch of spectacle pieced together by hammy dialogue and battle of the sexes tropes.

Several versions of this movie have been made. I enjoyed this one. A great adventure with beautiful cinematography.

Excellent location photography and good chemistry between Granger and Kerr.

There is about as much action as there is passion between the two stars, very little.

There isn't a decent film adaptation of H. Rider Haggard's novel, but this is probably the best one that exists. The issue with this one is that it drops most of the plot in favour of an African travelogue with tons of colour footage. The romance between Deborah Kerr and Stewart Granger is uncompelling, mostly because Granger seems like an insufferable jerk strutting around with his shirt off all the time and pretending Kerr is nothing to be all that interested in.

Old school African adventure with Stewart Granger & Deborah Kerr. As it's on location, it often feels like a safari through the various landscapes of the African continent, including getting introduced to several different tribes along the journey. The major thrills might be lacking, but there's always a sense of curiosity and excitement from what they encounter. I must have seen this a couple of decades ago, and it was nice seeing it again.
