I was nervous and awkward and uncomfortable every goddamn day of my adolescence. Weren't you? What's especially brilliant about this movie is the way it manages to convey the DRUDGERY and INEVITABILITY that comes with (most) everybody's ascent into adulthood. All that shit that you expect is gonna happen happens, and it does so pretty much in exactly the way you think it's gonna. This movie's freaking RIVETING.

Holy White Trash Batman!!!!! Where the hell does this take place and why the hell would anyone live there. Garbage all over the place, graffiti covering everything, absentee parents. Everyone in this town should commit suicide. What a depressing place to live. With that being said...I enjoyed the film. The truth or dare scene with the 4 characters bonding is easily the best part.

Thompson's debut film is a sensitive take at the coming of age and Charlie Plummer is brilliant in his role as the grimy adolescent who didn't quite fit in. The audience is able to absorb how Jack and his little cousin Ben change as they bond, and it leaves you with a delicate feeling.

Life's a bitch when you grow up. Kid, it don't get any better as you grow older either. Decent coming of age drama with a nice little feel good/feel pain ending.

The story is familiar, but King Jack brings a sufficient amount of heart with a surprising amount of dread to make this coming-of-age tale something special.

Brutal, damnable and inexcusable. A story about bullying and the struggle for survival of a young boy. My opinion here : http://opinion-as-a-moviefreak.blogspot.be/2016/11/king-jack-2015.html
