King Dinosaur

Why the hell do I keep clicking on the MST3K movies about dinosaurs KNOWING it's going to be a fuckin iguana being tortured by film makers who can't even bother to learn how to edit? What is wrong with me?

The worst of the 50's in an atomic bombshell. Rampant misogyny with hysterical women getting shoved to the ground to make way for a guiding man. Common pet store lizards being passed off as T-Rex's where they literally fight to the death for the camera. Throw in the casual use of atomic bombs to fight small isolated problems and then explain it away as "bringing civilization" in a non-ironic way to cap it all off. Even Ed Wood would call this trash. [MST3k really dropped the ball on this one.]

Mst3k. The T-rex is an iguana. Enough said.

If you're a woman, or an animal lover, or are like me unfortunately both, then you're going to hate this movie so much - at least when you're not being bored by endless stock footage. Gives the impression the filmmakers have serious trouble identifying animals by their appearance. Mind numbingly-dull.

Irony this late in the film?

Sinks so unbearably low - right after the rampant narrative misogyny and animal cruelty - and the end result is somehow dull. The realization is not pleasant.

Its laughable "alien planet" and "dinosaurs" provide some yuks but it goes from bad to worse later in the film with some animal cruelty.

It's one of those movies where logical responses to consequences just aren't considered so that it can take you along for the ride. ... The stupid, stupid ride.

Mind-numbing. In this case the monster is the film itself. At least the lemur was cute (that 10 points is all for him). One good thing anyway: after a pretty weak first season MST really started to get their sea legs right around here.

Terrible.
