This is like an unaired pilot of a TV Series with an interesting idea. Its got a distinctive '90s feel and seems to take its cues from "Stranger Things". Not bad but it feels like if I don't watch it occasionally or watch the "next episode" I'll forget all the details.

I should've known that everything in this movie would've led to one of the worst endings I've ever seen. Combining family outsider themes with grounded drama and otherworldly sci-fi has potential. But the script's full of the type of idiotic choices that only dumb movie characters to advance a plot. And it is so offensive. There's also nothing fun about seeing a teen act as if he's "cool" because he has a gun. And Franco's Whiteboy gangsta gimmick is always tiresome. Horrendous on every level.

Weird movie that tries to establish a foundation to what could be an interesting sci-fi tale but gets so mired in the slow, miserable crime & punishment set-up that the sequels requisite for it to make sense have probably already lost the desired audience. But at least it's weird.

Good buildup much worse 2nd act. Acting good from the kid, worse from the convict[not much of a lead he is] and just dreadfull from stripper. This could be really good but much is missing. Its really like not great but promising tv pilot.

A solid sci-fi flick that unfortunately probably won't be getting the sequel that it needs to explore the pretty cool stuff it sets up. It dragged a little bit at times and there were some serious leaps in logic that felt forced in to create drama, but there was some heart here, the visual effects were cool, there were some good jokes, Kravitz has a delightful smile (not creepy, right???) and the action was passable.

The criminal brother roadtrip made of lies main plot is good, the extraterrestrial one not so much. This means that most of the movie was enjoyable, but some bits, especially the end, were somewhere between groan and cringe. Even though this movie was ok, I don't think I'll want to watch the sequel.

This is pure garbage! The directors should find another line of work because they absolutely suck!

The trailer of the movie is completely diffirent from the movie itself. Obviously it has only one purpose; to make some money. Tons of plot holes and unnecessary drama made it even worse. The terrible thing is; they're filming a sequel. What a shame.

Usually when you have science fiction mixed in with an otherwise realistic story the former drags the latter down. But in this case, the sci-fi elements were made more realistic, mainly because it was a smaller part of the story, and things were all tied up at the end in a satisfying way. It worked for me anyway. The older brother character's self-destructive ways are annoying, which is why it isn't an 8 or a 9.
