For a thrilling adventure Kidnapped (1938) lacks a lot of action. For some reason I still found this journey through 1747 Scotland enjoyable enough. Especially the bits with young Freddie Bartholomew and his conniving uncle. Not sure if Warner Baxter was the right one for the male lead though. At least he didn't go for a massive Scottish accent. Now, that would have been hilarious! Thankfully with Arleen Whelan by his side his presence was tolerated this became a fine B-adventure.
