Kid Svensk

I wasn't expecting much here, mostly because the lead actress doesn't look anywhere near old enough to be the star in a coming-of-age film. Surprisingly though, it works, mostly. Mia Saarinen, who plays the lead role, is absolutely outstanding. She delivers one of the best, most astute performances I've ever seen by a child in a film. Aside from two overly-sexualized scenes, which are rather uncomfortable due to the aforementioned fact (and aren't necessary), this film is earnest and endearing.
