....two years later Franciska Gaal went to Hollywood and made a better version of Katharina, die Letzte [Catherine the Last] (1936) renaming it The Girl Downstairs (1938). The Austrian original still has it's adorable moments, but lacks Franchot Tone and the Hollywood polish.
