Karnavalnaya noch

An amusing critique of stodgy communism clashing with the less ideological reality told through New Year's eve community party. Rather than use strong satire, though, the film takes the form of a light romantic comedy and it is pretty fun. I guess the tone is what allowed it to get past censors but it does lack the bite a darker film could have. It is a fun time, though.
