Chico arrives in a city where there are two waring gangs. Chico gets wind of a large hidden stash of heroin owned by the, now dead, former leader over all of the gangs and sets off to find it and keep the two gangs at war. Sonny Chiba's take on Yojimbo, set in modern Japan. Chiba is a lone fighter who wanders into a town controlled by two rival gangs, etc. This movie adds in a little subplot about Chiba reuniting the son of a man he kills with his mother, which slows the action down a bit; but the fiery finale where Chiba takes on 20 yakuza with swords on the beach is definitely worth a look.
