Naina {Preity Zinta} is a young woman, slightly ticked off for reasons more than one. His father committed suicide when she needed him the most, leaving Jennifer{Jaya bachchan}, his wife all alone. About half of an immensely satisfying, over-the-top and gaudily melodramatic howler, with the sheer verve and fun of the musical numbers in the first half, enacted by three leads brazenly dashing into situations that Garbo herself mightn't have touched. The comparative light touch evaporates in the second half, droning on interminably past the three hour mark, before reaching the painfully saccharin conclusion (the "forbidden" passion between Zinta and Khan is never truly convincing).

One of the top Bollywood films. In this film everything is staying nicely together. Story is flowing and there isn't many disruptions what is common to Bollywood movies. Kal Ho Naa Ho has some stupid scenes but it won't kill the romantic atmosphere.

The movie is inspired from Julia Roberts movie and also from Hindi movie Anand. Great fun quotient. Very entertaining leaving some family drama. Made fun of Gujarati language speakers due to their ascent while speaking English.

This is a definite love/hate movie. The acting is atrocious (not exactly shocking) as are the characterizations (ugly duckling turned beautiful swan, the know-it-all who happens to be an idiot when it comes to his own problems, the third wheel with few distinguishing characteristics) and the story is meh. When it's carefree and doesn't take itself seriously, it's great. It's whenever the movie attempts drama that things fall apart. Bollywood needs to learn how to separate melodrama from drama.
