The most awkward incarnation of the Justice League yet. And if there's anything this movie taught me, it's that it's impossible to make Aquaman cool. Good luck Jason Momoa.

This is 1 of the best ones I have seen. So basically Atlantis wants to attack Metropolis for the death of their King. The Queen wants peace & avoid war. She's killed by 1 of her people that want war and wants to become King of the people. So they are fighting the Justice league. They finally Aqua man shows them the truth that he killed their queen. Everyone turns against the bad guy.

A worthy sequel that adds the missing piece to the Justice League puzzle by way of the Atlanteans and the lost city of Atlantis. The animation was on par with the first film, the under water fight scenes were cool. The only aspect I didn't like was the Wonder Woman/Superman romantic storyline. Cyborg continues to be utilized well and Batman and Green Lantern continue to be used as primary with Shazam and Flash getting minor roles. Solid enough addition to the larger world.

I just wasn't interested in the story plus I felt most if not all the humor fell flat.

The first 20 minutes offers the kind of compelling character work you don't usually see in these kinds of films offering us an interesting peek behind at what the Leaguers are up to when they're not busy saving the planet (unfortunately they can't seem to give Cyborg anything to do but work). Things get a little too predictable after that w/ Aquaman's character arc rushed through far too quickly (the romance w/ Mera) and implausibly (what the Atlanteans do at the end).

Weird to have Aquaman's origin story crop up after the other heroes but regardless it's fairly predictable and bland tripe. I've always preferred it when Aquaman was written as the proud, nationalistic king of Atlantis rather than some generic reluctant hero archetype. It's also unfocused, too - they have a good many different plot threads crop up with the other heroes that are meant to be expanded upon in future films which diminishes the plot of this film. The DCAU this is not.

At times entertaining, but often predictable, cliched and/or cringeworthy.

Good to see old school action cartoons still alive. The Justice League with all ones favorite superheroes all in place. The focus here is on Aquaman and his road to the Throne of Atlantis. Not the most captivating adventures getting there, but the final battle increased the excitement well enough to make it a okay brawl among superhero freaks.

Throne of Atlantis, aka Aquaman's Justice League origin story, is a mixed bag. Its premise is slightly more intelligent than that of its prequel, War, but it still suffers from same overuse of villain cliches. As usual, you can expect the dark tone and wry wit that normally accompany recent animated JL ventures, but some of the fight sequences are a little on the tedious side. Overall a decent attempt, but falls short of the potential shown in the Flashpoint Paradox.

The far superior sequel to the film that is Justice League: War, Throne of Atlantis, still cannot compete with the classic voices that it replaced but still tells a pretty solid story, with badass fights and animation, some genuinely comedic moments and the ability to pump the viewer up for a live-action Aquaman in 2017.
