Entertaining rom-com. Ruffalo and Witherspoon are very likable.

Cute movie that has some genuinely sweet moments, but feels like it's missing that special something that makes this movie stand out. Mark Ruffalo and Reese Witherspoon play very well off each other. Jon Heder, however, sticks out like a sore thumb; it felt like the director or producers were trying to ride on his popularity from Napoleon Dynamite rather than let him be a believable character.

Donal Logue is really very funny here, and Ruffalo and Witherspoon have good chemistry. That's enough to make the movie watchable, but not enough to be recommendable or even very note-worthy. Heder is painfully obnoxious, and the plot is by-the-numbers pro-life garbage. The very last scene made me want to chuck my TV out the window, but that tacked-on bit from Napoleon isn't enough to wipe away all the cuteness that came before it. ...just most of it.

This seems to be surprisingly high rated, but I thought it was pure fluff for adults. Reese and Ruffalo are OK, but the message is forced on our throats, and I never found the film's world believable in any way - and I don't mean the concept, but the characters, the hospital, etc. It feels longer than it's actual duration of 95mins. It wasn't agonizing, but pretty bland and forgettable.

Standard issue high concept rom-com can’t quite spark to life as it should, largely due to a mismatch in the chemistry between Witherspoon and Ruffalo – both actors give reliably decent performances, but both are far too sleepy; there is also a dire lack of help in the supporting cast, with Shenkman’s villain and Logue’s “outrageous” best friend all playing in similar hushed tones. Concept is fine, if underdeveloped – the hospital scenes have a bizarre, unmistakable whiff of “SCRUBS” about them.

An enjoyable romantic comedy. Felt like a cheap hospital comedy at times, but the acting and the story made up a lot for this. More focused on romance than comedy. The attitude toward life and the emotional problems that are connected with this attitude is universally shared among fellow humans. This is one of the issues that the film handles quite well.

Katie Melua's cover version of The Cure song 'Just Like Heaven' to start the film is peaceful pop perfection. Movie's a solid romantic drama (the comedy misses so I won't call it a romcom). Ambitious concept and better than the average 90s/00s chick-flick. Emotions hit the right notes.

A charming story without the slightest bit of believability. Pretty decent acting for a story of total nonsense. Though it it is not a particularly enjoyable theme, there were several funny and sweet moments. Reese Witherspoon and Mark Ruffalo performances were good and entertaining. Good production quality and decent music. Silly but worth a laugh or two.

Although this might have some of Mark Ruffalo's best acting ever (the bar scene with the shots in case you actually see it) the overall movie was horrible. Come on Reese you are better then this especially with all the cheesy special effects.

Pleasant and romantic but it moves in fits and starts, sometimes coming on more awkward than the fuzzy feel it wants to provide us with. Still, there is quite a bit to enjoy here, including a very good Ruffalo, great comic bits, the golden hues of Daryn Okada's gorgeous cinematography and Rolfe Kent's score.
