Freakin' gorgeous technicolour cinematography is the first reason I wanted to see this. Its fabulous to watch anything remotely tropical or junglistic. This version of the story seemed to have a more pronounced savagery, prominent in human characters too, and Mowgli is convincingly wild. Special effects have aged remarkably well, don't mind the rubber snakes at all.

Mogli, o menino lobo estreava há 80 anos no México. Deslumbramte aventura como só os Kordas sabiam fazer nos anos 40, ajuda não me lembrar de nada da versão da Disney e ter apenas um animal falante. BlurayRip RARBG.

A couple of nagging ethical dilemmas which leave me apprehensive: the colonial depiction of exotic culture (sure are a lot of white people in brown face!) and questionable handling of animals, particularly toward the end (sure are a lot of beasts fleeing from real flames!). It is those things, as well as a rich adventure, beautifully set dressed, featuring a fascinating zoological array, exuberant Sabu, and some poetic evocation of nature's pure unyielding in the face of man's corruptibility.

A decent family film. It felt like something I would've seen on The Wonderful World of Disney back when I was a kid.

Visually dreamy with adventurous bright colors. Truly mesmerizing adaptation of the Jungle Book (1942)! Unfortunately the characters drown a little too much within the ambitious settings of gold and wildlife, which makes this more a visual experience than the emotional trip it also should have been. But it's so unique for it's time that I loved it for the richness it does possess!

One of the best adaptations of Kipling's novel, though obviously not as good. Interesting alterations to the story that capture the deceitful, greedy nature of men.

Jungle Book is really hit or miss; some scenes are entertaining and others are boring and drawn out. It's also weird to see the lead played by an Indian actor and all of the other supposedly-Indian characters played by white actors. The set design is very good.
