Remove CGI and there is not much left.

This movie was much better than I expected. Nothing ground-breaking but certainly enjoyable.

It's OK!

If you see a picture of this and think it's an action movie, just be prepared that most of the time it's scientists testing AI. There IS action, and I did enjoy it when it happened, but the heart is in the relationship between the team lead (the daughter) and the AI (her mother, who failed a mission and died). As a slower-paced examination of that and how profit is king, it's not exactly mind-blowing but it's well done enough that I enjoyed it and got something from it.

A traumatised, almost mute woman finds a way of relieving her longstanding feelings of guilt about her mother’s sacrifices. While it might be understood as being critical of the tendency of corporations to extract profit from every conceivable aspect of life and death, it also seems clear that, in the world of this film, the invention of robots designed for war is considered far more honourable than the invention of robots designed for the “servitude” of household tasks. It's all a bit humdrum.
