June Again

Unfortunately coming a little too closely on the heels of THE FATHER, this is a more simplistic, sitcom portrait of the ravages of dementia, but it's difficult to complain about a film that provides Hazlehurst with such a terrific showcase; she is the centerpiece, delivering a beautifully tart and touching portrait of June, with Karvan and Curry delivering fine support. Overly elaborate plotting, and the expected bending of the disease to fit the requirements of the plot, are minor detriments.

Good acting but the story is quite sad as it portrays life with dementia. The love story was stretched pretty thin at the end, but the family drama was fairly good. The old gal had a real personality when she wasn't lost in her mind. Worth watching.
