Very philosophical, semi-autobiographical, slightly surreal and highly allegorical. The cultural references were difficult to grasp. But I did get a lot out of it. An extremely unusual film, like Godard with a dash of Jodorowski. Ghatak does very startling things with sound and music, the edits are quite jarring, and the travelogue style of the narrative is intriguing. The heavy allegory occasionally gets tedious, it often feels like Ghatak is desperate to cram as many ideas in as he can.
