Jujutsu Kaisen 0: The Movie

the screenplay suffers from being transplanted from an episodic format into long form but everything's there and the animation is incredible gimme the shinjuku chapter now

Even though animated not for children. Great fast paced movie that shared more of familiar characters back story. I was left with a few questions though so hopefully season two of Jujutsu Kaisen answers some of them.

Imagine if Harry Potter were to turn into a great Anime franchise. Jujutsu Kaisen 0 is the one.

While keeping the usual Jujutsu Kaisen style of the series, the movie adds an emotional level I definitely wasn't prepared for. Gojo is still the best. It's nice to see that with this and 'Mugen Train', that anime movies can move away from being just random filler episodes to actually adopting arcs that are relevant to the plot.

I'm not an anime fan. I've never seen the show but have read that this is a prequel that was the first written manga book before the TV show, so not a bad place to dive in. There is no plot here. No characters. It's all just an excuse for typical atom bomb anime fights. One after another. In quick succession. Couldn't wait for it to end. It's an entertainment wasteland. I'd rather watch old "Thundercats" cartoons, at least that had a fun theme song. Straight trash.

Very surprised how much I liked this movie. Such an epic with a fantastic score. The animation as also gorgeous but unfortunately there was some style choices I couldn’t get over and way too much cheesiness… B-

Sometimes too quick, sometimes boring, the battle scene at the end saves the lack of rythm.

Honestly this whole movie was pretty damn good, but it is PREREQUISITE that you watch season 1 of the anime first. Perfect for giving you that extra jjk content, but as a standalone it would be a confusing mess.
