Interesting glimpse into Pakistani family way of life and how individuals have to suppress the things that would bring them happiness in order to please other family members.

Despite its minor flaws, "Joyland" is a satisfying example of a slice of life that provides a window into the lives of those in a community that is often overlooked. With fine performances and a thoughtfully curated commentary, the results are a mesmerizing display that is an indispensable showcase to be provided.

Bold subject for a pakistani movie.

It's a decent but not very good film with some particular flaws. The way the story unfolded at the end was not powerful enough. It's also hard to see who's on the director's focus and where he positions himself with the story of the three main characters. However, considering how big this issue is taboo in the Pakistani context, it's a great achievement and definitely worth seeing.
