The Joe Palooka movie series has been a weird one. At first it was a comedy with a touch of sport. Then they turned it into a crime fighter series, increasingly making them more serious. But here Joe Palooka Meets Humphrey (1950), played by Robert Coogan, the younger brother of "The Kid" Jackie Coogan. Just imagine a giant Uncle Fester with bad hair, and you got this Humphrey character. He stuck out like a sore thumb! And I was kinda loving it, in a bad taste kind of way!
