Watching every Saw movie would probably be the biggest waste of time in my life, if not for everything else I've ever done.

Unlike some previous Saw films it actually manages to link the gratuitous cop subplot into the main plot in a way that, well, makes it not entirely gratuitous. The bulk of the main funhouse of torture porn is so full of characters making retarded decisions that it's tough to invest too fully in their fates.

Completely ludicrous and implausible, filled to the brim with inept cops, but as long as the kills keep on being creative, I'll keep watching.

In this movie we meet Logan, who heroically served and suffered in Iraq, where he killed, and I am not kidding, 'Taliban'. Geopolitics not a strong suit in the extended Saw franchise, unless that was deliberate snd extremely deadpan satire somehow.

come for yet another person who happens to be in Jigsaw's pocket (what even is the timeline any more)...stay for Jigsaw looking intently out the window while drawing his doll's tricycle blue print (for some reason?)

Despite the gap between the 7th and this the 8th franchise entry, the quality hasn't really improved much. Frequently feels like they are retreading scenes of the earlier films rather than being inspired by them. In a series known for it's twists, this is fairly predictable and results in a disappointing attempt to kickstart the horror saga.

It’s been awhile since I’ve seen these, so it’s hard to compare. The dialogue is often mediocre. The outside plot is slow as usual, but slightly more interesting. A few “oh, that’s convenient” moments. I’d be lying if I said I didn’t enjoy the twists in the last 30 minutes as well. If you like any of the sequels, this may be worthwhile (free on Amazon Prime atm). I personally thought it was way better than 3 and 4. Not as good as 1, 2 and 6.

This probably counts as one of the most unnecessary sequels in a franchise long thought to be dead (no puns intended). Still, if you are indeed a fan of the franchise, it is good to see it back and take a step in the right direction after the god-awful last couple of instalments. It seems to pay homage to a couple of the originals and while the twist is a little obvious, the reveal is pretty good.

Belongs with the first couple where the twists and turns actually make a semblance of sense. Probably one of the best looking films of the series as well. Instead of going the whole route with Hoffman if this was the 4th one of the series you would have, on a average, a pretty good little sadistic horror franchise. As it stands though the series is obviously way too stretched out (This is ANOTHER person who is actually working with Jigsaw) and has as many clunkers as it does passable films.

Jigsaw became something it had absolutely no right to be. Half way decent. Granted that doesn't mean much in the realm of the Saw movies, it brings in a cast strong enough to keep us interested for a little while. Writing the script in a way to bring back Tobin Bell without retconning too much was a smart choice and elevates this eighth installment higher than anyone expected. Though its still far from perfect and as brutal as ever.

Pretty terrible top to bottom. Weak characters, contraptions and an underwhelming conclusion keep this from being anything worth seeking out.

Önceki iki filme kıyasla senaryo aşırı kötüydü bu sefer. Finalde bir twist yapmışlar WTF oldum. Ama şaşkınlığım beni etkilemesine değil saçmalığınaydı. Her şeye rağmen seriyi sevmeme sebep olan işkence sahneleri nasıldı derseniz, önceki iki filme kıyasla ondan da neredeyse hiç keyif alamadım maalesef.

Of course it's not good, but franchise got to a point where we have to weigh in: 'We've seen way worse than this'. It tones down the gore a bit in order to have more fun with the traps -- it all happens in a barn and there is even a laser variation of the classic device that nearly killed Amanda years ago -- and actually give the expected final twists more breathing and time. Too bad we still don't care about anyone with the exception of JK, who obviously is never dead -- even when he is.

While certainly still not worth watching, this one stands out (slightly) from most of its predecessors by virtue of being merely a mediocre thriller rather than a hilariously bad Rubik's cube of ham.

Honestly, it's not that bad as far as these movies go. Not good by any means and (like every other Saw sequel) it's a complete mess if you try to seriously follow the plot, but it's a step up. It's nice to see a Saw movie that tries to go for an aesthetic beyond "came from a toilet".

Warning I am a saw fanboy: A solid sequel that is easily one of the upper tier saw films. The twist is good, not because its original but because of how well it's handled. The upgrade to HD really helps the film, except for when it relys on CGI instead of practical gore. Writing is tight and the pace moves fast. Traps are all fun and add in suspense. Aciting is about the best in the series...but still overall bad except for Tobin Bell.

Jigsaw is a bad movie and not a great Saw movie, but it's a slight step up from the "final chapter" we were promised a few years ago--if only because it's not boring. It moves along at a quick pace and has too many thin characters doing too many things we don't care about to ever take a breath. It'd be more worthwhile if it had more interesting traps or wasn't as predictable with its twists and turns, but it does what it wants, which is to be a soft reboot of the franchise.

Not the best in the series, but still pretty good. Once again it was a good written plot. The traps were a bit boring but there was plenty of excitement. I love the Saw-franchise and still haven't seen a bad Saw film.

At this point there isn't much to expect from these movies. Going on with it's eight entry, Jigsaw maybe isn't as gory or inventive with its traps this go around, but quick pacing, okay characters and a less convoluted plot than it's predecessors makes this a step up from many of the other series, but fails to hit the levels of either one or two, and failing to bring anything new to the franchise, leaving to wonder how much gas this franchise actually had left to begin with.

So, why bring the franchise back? Well, money, of course. The movie itself certainly doesn't know. It's just another one. Nothing special. I have a mild interest in seeing how the traps will turn out, but that's about it. Whenever they cut away from those scenes, it was so incredibly boring. I guessed part of the twist, and the rest of it was lame. Now, please stop.

There are things that I like about this movie and things that I don't. I liked how they brought it back to the earlier days of Saw when Jigsaw had ideologies you could appreciate, that the victims made sense, that the practical effects were back instead of CGI...but part of it doesn't FEEL like Saw should. It should be a spinoff or one-off special, not official sequel. Biased Score: 86% | Unbiased Score: 80%
