There are a few laughs thanks to the absurd premise of a voice assistant that does too much. It missed the mark on the human aspsct of the film squandering chemistry between Devine and Shipp for some awkwardly unfunny scenes between Devine and Byrnes voice. It tries way too hard to force the humor upon us rather than tell a more natural story about comfort and escaping that. Over the top films of this nature rarely relay their message with effective resonance. Jexi is another example of this.

This is essentially a remake of 'Her', but cruder and shallower, but I have to admit it's pretty damn funny! While the message about AI potentially destroying one's life is seemingly intended to be tongue-in-cheek, I think we ought to take this issue of tech fetishism deadly seriously (not so much physical death but noetic death). In this sense, the film is likely more poignant than it first seems. I was waiting for Rose Byrne to appear on screen only to realise that she IS Jexi!

This is like the Upside Down version of the vastly superior movie "Her" which has a similar premise of personal assistant AI / human master codependent relationship. If you are 5 years old and enjoy dick humor, I guess this could substitute?

Hey fellow millenials I heard you like smartphones and voice assistants. So here is the stupidest movie premise our executives could think of. Enjoy :))

I enjoyed this for what it was. I think there were definitely plenty of really funny moments, and I thought the idea was a fun one.

Phil has a huge problem: he is completely dependent on his phone. He has no friends, a meaningless job and his love life is non-existent. But his status seems to change when he needs to upgrade his phone. The latest model comes an unexpected feature called Jexi. This virtual assistant helps him get his life back on track, but turns into a nightmare when it turns out that he can function better without his phone.

I suppose it helps that I am a huge Adam Devine (Workaholics) fan, but this comedy was laugh out loud funny throughout.

Telefon asistanın kanka olursa. Saçma sapan işte çalışan Phil, telefonu kırılınca, yeni telefonundaki asistan acayip çıkar. Hızlı kurgusuyla, Her filmine benzer konusuyla, Adam Devine şapşal oyunculuğu ile film izleniyor. Fakat abartı çok fazla olmuş. Filmin sonunda, aşkı buldum denmiş. Jexi yeni 1 aşk, yeni 1 iş ve yeni 1 gelecek lazım. Phil hiç uğraşamam güncelleme yapacağım.

Great set up in the first half and actually heartwarming, but then abruptly turns into the ending. Adam Devine always seems like he's working hard and meaning well. Got tired of Rose Byrne's fake Jexi voice and sentence structure. Ha. Ha. Ha. Ha. Ha. Ha. Alexandra Shipp was cute but really seemed too much like a dream girl for him. Surprised he never figured out he couldn't have sent the dick pic since he left Jexi at home. Fav scene: first date was a trainwreck.

When Siri was originally released, I'm sure all iPhone users got bored and asked it if it had a boyfriend. But the real question is if that's good enough to make a movie out of. I'm not sure. There's a ton of what I call "Jump Jokes" in this film (the opposite of jump scares". Jokes that are said just for comedic sake, but they don't make sense. Punchlines without buildup just don't work very well.

Not sure if it's a Netflix movie. Felt like a Netflix movie.

Saw this in a theater with only 2 other people there, which means my number of laughs watching was equal to the number of viewers in attendance. None of these laughs came when Wanda Sykes was allowed to freestyle. Those same 2 people walked out during Michael Pena's credits scene, indicating that they know nothing.
