Cute French drama taking place at a boarding school for girl, several of whom have divorced parents. And that's the topic Georg Wilhelm Pabst takes up in Jeunes filles en détresse [Girls in Distress] (1939) as the girls form a union to ban divorce! Despite the personal theme, the film keeps a fairly light tone and is mainly kept endearing by the adorable personalities of Micheline Presle, Louise Carletti & Jacqueline Delubac.
