A fairly throwaway thriller mainly due its plot. An "event" happens over an hour in, which derails the procedural in a bland sort of way. The better parts of the film lay in its cast and their performance which are fun to watch.

Ever-so-90's thriller, rain-soaked and psycho-almost-logical. The pace took a dive in the middle but Thurman did vulnerable endearingly well and I liked the Young score, especially near the start.

This film was alright. It has some interesting moments and I was impressed with Uma Thurman's performance. But what it comes down to is this movie wasn't very exciting most of the time.

The opening scene in the junkyard was a great set; they used it wonderfully. Thurman did wonders with acting a blind person. Overall, the story was okay but not great. Andy Garcia cannot act anger though, he looks like an overgrown petulant kid. That might be the reason they moved him to the depiction of cool, emotionless characters later on.

Okay...predictable and overacted (especially by Uma Thurmond), but an okay yarn.

Beautifully directed, dark thriller with twists and turns as an obsessed detective tracks a dead-end serial killer case with clues that point to him as he gets closer to the killer. Andy Garcia smolders with gravitas and intensity in a way he has had trouble matching ever since. classic scene in a rainy dump in the beginning, where he uncovers a severed hand. John Malcovich nearly steals the film in a series of interrogations as a smarmy investigator trying to pin the murders on Garcia, and Lance Henrikson puts in some very solid character work. Uma Thurman looks great and the film has a surprise ending that satsifies.
