How many points do you add to a film when it has one of the best blooper reels you've ever seen? Everything with celebrities taking shots at themselves is gold to me, but the fact that Kevin Smith, the very man who wrote the line, can't keep from cracking up when he hears Ben deliver the line, "But Affleck was the bomb in Phantoms," tickles me to the core. It's like a good episode of Family Guy where nothing really connects the jokes and the intonation is as important as the punchline.

If I would have reviewed this when I saw it as a 14-year old, I would have given it a high rating. Maybe you should read his Criticker, instead. There's so much casual homophobia in this film that I felt like I was back in high school.

Don't get me wrong. I love both Kevin Smith and the awsome duo; Jay and Silent Bob. I can watch all of Smiths movies again and again and again. But this particulary film stinks. Its the fucking definition of overexposure. It's like Kevin Smith actually thinks that the dick&fart-jokes are the reason he succeeded in the first place. Dude, your so much more than that!

There is no real reason to watch this unless you're high as fuck and still in your teens (in which case, why are you watching a Kevin Smith movie, hypothetical person born after 2000?). Score is generous due to nostalgia, although I still think of "what the fuck is the Internet?!" like every other day.

You kinda have to be a fan of Kevin Smith to enjoy this movie, because the negative things they say the people on the internet have to say about Jay & Silent Bob (ie. "one-note jokes that only stoners laugh at") are very accurate. Thankfully, I'm a Kevin Smith fanboy, so I like this movie. Not on the same level as his others, though.

Okay, so it's a big in joke between Smith and his friends, along with people who have seen his other movies. So? Watch his other movies before you watch this. Jay and Silent Bob aren't strong enough characters to carry a story by themselves (I'm not saying they aren't hilarious... they're just better as supporting characters), but luckily they have lots of other people to help. They do have some great moments themselves, however.

I liked this movie. Really I did, low score not withstanding. But to the uninitiated, this movie will not work. You have to be a fan of Kevin Smith (I am!) ands of Jay and Silent Bob (I am!) to really get this flick. Jay and Silent Bob are the glue that hold Smith's films together as one cohesive unit, but as fully fleshed out charecters they are slightly lacking and have a tough time supporting a feature length film of their own.

I feel a lot of the meta-humor in this one was too on the nose because... yeah. A full length movie starring these two jerkoffs is a little too much. But I think that was the point? Anywho, I did get some laughs out of it so out of it so I guess it wasn't too awful.

I found myself really enjoying this film. Lots of self-aware and meta humor that honestly felt really smart and really fresh. Fan-catering film in the loosely-tied together Askewniverse of Kevin Smith. Ironically, where the enveloped is pushed in this film mostly relies on the dialogue and out-of-frame implications, otherwise it is among the more tame "stoner comedies" especially of the time period. Fun movie for fans of the director and characters, but likely confusing and pointless to those unfamiliar with the established characters.

Before Disney Presents Marvel's Cinematic Universe Kevin Smith created his own cartoon characters and let the two loose in his own cinematic universe. Set inside the same world as "Clerks"(1994),"Mallrats"(1995)."Chasing Amy"(1997), and "Dogma"(1999) Kevin Smith and all his friends return in this wacky adventure of dick, weed, and in-side jokes. The movie directly asks the audience the only question you need ask yourself "who would pay to see a Jay and Silent Bob movie?"-Fans of Kevin Smith

Like Mallrats, J.A.S.B.S.B wants to please fans and newcomers, and this time the in-jokes and references to the View Askew universe are magnified to the point of indulgence. After this film Kevin Smith was never really taken seriously again, but that's ok, because he actually excels at this brand of adolescent potty mouthed humour, fashioning a borderline episodic, all American ode to male stupidity that's virtually plotless and features a revolving door of amusing star cameos.

Even as a parody, this movie should have never seen the light of day. A movie that should never be connected to the Clerks franchise for that matter. Kevin Smith is the kind of director who can intentionally and meta-awarely make a bad/mediocre movie, and I don't know if I'm okay with that. But he has a lot of funny friends who will agree to be in said movie, and that mostly makes up for it. Points for Will Ferrell, Good Will Hunting 2, and beating the shit out of internet commentators.

Jay is the best, his randomly timed one liners and stoner reactions make this movie into one of the best of the jersey movies. I always love a good stoner comedy , that combined with the unique style of Smith, we get a personal all time favourite comedy. Seen it over a dozen times and still its funny. And damn is shannon hot in this movie!! Great support cast as well!

The fourth wall breaks make some funny excuses for the lousy jokes we heard or we are about to hear, but Jay and Silent Bob's solo adventure suffers from too much self-conscious remarks to fully entertain. Kevin can say he created a world of his own, in which constant cursing, dick jokes and often bright comments on entertainment and film industry (Miramax gags are worth your attention, and so are the cameos) seem more relevant than any need to develop a plot. The internet jokes are great.

The film that brings all of Kevin Smith's previous films together and thus should only be watched if you liked most of them. The best part is when they go beat up internet commentors. That idea will never become dated unless the internet somehow dies out.

This is one of the weaker movies that Kevin Smith has made. The movie is still enjoyable with plenty of fun moments and some laughs. This movie goes straight for laughs, the plot is nothing special. Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back is a funny movie that will definitely make Kevin Smith fans laugh. Will it make non-fans laugh? Maybe, but they'll miss a lot of the fun. Regardless, I had a fun time with it, even if things like pacing and plot were largely ignored so that more jokes could be told and humorous situations could be shown. We want to laugh, and this film delivers, even if it fails in more than one way when looking at it afterward.

Many of the characters feel like they're taken out of something in the "Scary Movie" franchise. The only thing that saves this movie from similar levels of awful-ness is the presence of a few good celebrity cameos, and the fact that Kevin Smith was a bit less... Eccentric back then.

Smith's purest comedy may not pack the same quality of laughs as Mallrats but delivers just as many. Ultimately, Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back lacks the total charm factor generally present in a Smith affair by including Ferrell-esque smack-you-in-the-face comedy sprinkled throughout. Despite its shortcomings its still funnier than not and worth checking out whenever you forget the bulk of the jokes.

Kevin Smith's films are usually pretty bad, unless they have Jay and Silent Bob in them. UPDATE: A self-involved greatest hits of Smith's career. On the plus side, it's always trying and sometimes gets a good laugh, mostly from some of the great cameos from Seann William Scott and Chris Rock. Unlike many other comedies of its ilk, doesn't drag too much towards the end and at least seems focused on delivering laughs, even if they're more juvenile and half-baked than from Smith's earlier work.
