Businessman Vishwanatha Menon (M.G. Soman), his wife Padmavathi (Jayabharathi) & Padmavathi's niece Nimmy (Karthika) come to Kodaikanal for a month's vacation, where they meet & befriend orphan guide Raju (Mohanlal).
