One of Marion Davies' big costume productions, which was not what she was best at, but they wanted higher prestige surrounding the Hearst girl so that's what they put her in. She gets away with it by playing cute with hints of her comic charm, but this was mostly drama with war and political involvement as America fights for it's independence. Harrison Ford wasn't really clicking as her love interest, so it was mainly down to Davis and her much older male colleagues making it's enjoyable.
